We are fortunate enough to have our own static caravan sited at California Cliffs, Great Yarmouth, which we have this year upgraded.

It has 3 bedrooms, and is 8 berth. It is fully accessible for wheelchair users, including a ramp and veranda area, and has all the usual amenities to ensure a good holiday and break away. This is particularly helpful for families with very sick children, as it is often very difficult for our families to take a seriously ill child into a hotel or other holiday destination, especially with lots of medical equipment, such as oxygen or suction therapy. It is also very difficult to insure some of our children against cancellation of a booked holiday, with the monetary loss that would arise if the child became very ill or had to be hospitalised. It also ensures the whole family including siblings get a fun holiday together making happy memories for future days.

The caravan is often used for our families following times of difficult and painful treatments for the child, and sadly, is sometimes used by a family following the death of a much loved child.

Our hire rates are as low as possible to ensure our special families do not have to be too concerned about finances, And in some circumstances, we allow families to go free of charge. The caravan costs us in the region of £4,000- £5,000 a year with ground rent, and upkeep. This, of course, puts a huge strain on the groups’ financial resources and is a big commitment for our fundraising efforts, but we feel this is a really essential part of our support for each other.
